"Wonderfall" Tips from the People of Eventum
Although it still feels like summer, fall has officially started. But boy do NY look good in colors! This time of the year offers a wide variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors. We've put together some of our favorite "to-do's". Let the fall begin!
Florian Meyer, Director of Business Development: "East coast fall means hurricane season. And hurricane season is surf season! As long as they don't have landfall in New York, the hurricanes deliver the best waves of the year. Head high to even double over head high waves, roll into the NY-beaches. During the weekends I prefer going to Montauk. At weekdays I'll get up at 5 AM to catch the waves before work. I usually head out to Rockaways or Longbeach for the morning rides." Abdullah Chowdhury, Customer Relationship Manager: "A big event I always look forward to during fall is New York Comic Con. You'll have to get your ticket in advance before they quickly sell out. But NY Comic Con is a "can't miss" experience for comic book aficionados like myself. The big event takes place in the spacious Javits center, so you'll have plenty to discover and celebrities to encounter. Cosplaying is highly encouraged, so be sure to dress up as your favorite character from comics, movies or TV shows."
Leslie Concho, Marketing: "For me, fall is about taste. This season offers a lot of reach flavors and beautiful colors for the kitchen. This fall, Vegan Food and Drink Festival is coming to NY for the first time. The event takes place Sunday October 1st at Randall's Island. The general admission is $15, and tickets must be bought prior to the event. The festival will be hosting 11 vendors, offering both local and international dishes." Yummy!
Kathrine Rauboti, Marketing: "As a true "wannabe" yogi and nature lover, I love to practice yoga outdoors. But the NY-summers tend to be too hot for my sporty taste. Fall is therefor a perfect time to do yoga in the park. I practice Vinyasa Yoga with Yogatrail in the beautiful surrounding of Central Park. The classes are open for all levels, which makes it easy to include your not-so-yogi-friends for the fun of the experience. The class is $15 when you bring your own mat and takes about 1.5 hours. In the true spirit of the season, I visit Le Pain Quotidien which is near by, for a hot chocolate after class. Another hot-spot for me, is Nomo Kitchen. I love coming to this beautiful lagoon for weekend-brunches, enjoying pretty drinks, a good vibe, and the tunes from the DJ!" Namaste!
Jin Ha, CEO: "I always have a hard time letting go off the rooftop-season in New York. With this heat, I might not have to let go just yet. But when the time comes, some locations have year-around accessibility that brings the outdoor to your table. My favorite location is currently Rooftop 760 at the Copacabana. They have an open-air patio with a good view of the Theater District. If you think it's too cold, there's indoor alternatives as well."
Severin Bernreuther, Business Development: "Being from Germany, Oktoberfest is "must-do" during fall. I love this traditional German folk festival and all it contains. Although most Oktoberfest take place in September, The Brooklyn Oktoberfest takes place in late October, extending this joyful celebration. In conjunction to Doug Hager’s and Liquid Projects, we bring this authentic weekend-long celebration to NYC. Come join us for the celebrations!" Save up to 25% with promo code: Eventum Oompha!
